Kiwanis' Current Projects

These are representative of what your Kiwanis Club of San Clemente is focused on right now. We are looking for more people to join us as members so that we will be able to do even more to make our community a better place to live!

AVID at San Clemente High School

“The support of the Kiwanis Club of San Clemente has enabled the AVID Program of SCHS to provide field trips for 100+ students a year to job shadow careers at Camp Pendleton and experience career exposure hands on. Additionally, they provide 10+ scholarships a year to graduating seniors that students use to further their education after SCHS. We can't thank them enough for their dedication to this community!”

San Clemente High School

AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing students for college readiness and success in a global society.

Scholarships for San Clemente High School Seniors and Achievement Awards for Local High School Seniors

Each year we sponsor a program where seniors can compete for scholarships. We believe this endeavor is a small but valuable contribution to ensure our young people consider that their continuing education matters to our whole community.

Family Assistance Ministries (FAM)

The Kiwanis Club of San Clemente has supported with cash donations, participation in food drives, FAM Hunger Walk and hands on remodeling of the new FAM Thrift Shop.

Family Assistance Ministries is a faith-based charitable non-profit organization assisting those in need in Orange County with resources for food, shelter, and personalized supportive counsel and aid, helping clients bridge the gap from dependency to self-sufficiency.

Peaceful Warriors

In partnership with St. Clements Church, the Kiwanis Club of San Clemente made possible the creation of this organization that offers the children in the Las Palmas area the opportunity to learn the honorable benefits of martial arts.

Support the Activities of Four Local High School Key Club Organizations

Every member of the Kiwanis International Family is an important partner in service for our community. Key Club is the High School organization sponsored by Kiwanis for the High School age young adults as they begin to understand the value of volunteerism for our local communities and beyond.

"Kiwanis Club of San Clemente is an integral part of our K-Family. For Key Clubbers at San Clemente, Dana Hills, Capo Valley and San Juan Hills High School they are the ones we look up to for training, advice, moral support, and physical support. Year after year they train the newly elected Key Club officers and diligently work to guide us towards serving our community in the best way possible. They are active in chaperoning our events, organizing fundraisers, and coming to our meetings, which alleviates so much stress on our parts. As high-school students, we love to receive scholarships from them too.”

Friends of the Library

For each speaker who addresses our weekly meetings, we donate a book to the children’s library in their name. This enables our local library to continue to provide excellent learning materials for our children.
